POWERFUL first VERSES

Proverbs 30:5

King James Version

5 Every word of God is pure:

he is a shield unto them

that put their trust in him.

The day GOD made me born again, He fed me His WORD right away.

In great hunger, and thirst, I devoured the first four gospels.

Every passage from JESUS seems to speak to me.

Today marks my 43rd month as born again.

As if to make up for the long journey I took, GOD gave me a "shortcut".

He led me to these powerful verses on day one.

These shaped the work I was to do.

Of course, I wrote them on index cards.

That I may remember forever how it all began for me.

The main one was this:

Matthew 23:8-12

King James Version

8 But be not ye called Rabbi:

for one is your Master, even Christ;

and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth:

for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters:

for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you

shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased;

and he that shall humble himself

shall be exalted.

With those powerful verses in place, these followed soon after:

Matthew 6:34

King James Version

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow:

for the morrow shall take thought

for the things of itself.

Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 10:19

King James Version

19 But when they deliver you up,

take no thought how or what ye shall speak:

for it shall be given you in that same hour

what ye shall speak.

Matthew 10:20

King James Version

20 For it is not ye that speak,

but the Spirit of your Father

which speaketh in you.

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying,

The time is fulfilled,

and the kingdom of God is at hand:

repent ye,

and believe the gospel.

Mark 3:29

King James Version

29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost

hath never forgiveness,

but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Mark 5:36

King James Version

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken,

he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue,

Be not afraid,

only believe.

Mark 8:38

King James Version

38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed

of me and of my words

in this adulterous and sinful generation;

of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed,

when he cometh in the glory of his Father

with the holy angels.

Mark 13:32

King James Version

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man,

no, not the angels which are in heaven,

neither the Son,

but the Father.

Mark 13:33

King James Version

33 Take ye heed,

watch and pray:

for ye know not when the time is.

Mark 13:35

King James Version

35 Watch ye therefore:

for ye know not when the master of the house cometh,

at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing,

or in the morning:

Mark 13:36

King James Version

36 Lest coming suddenly

he find you sleeping.

Mark 13:37

King James Version

37 And what I say unto you

I say unto all,

Watch.

Verily I say unto you,

No prophet is accepted in his own country.

and come after me,

cannot be my disciple.

King James Version

that likewise joy shall be in heaven

over one sinner that repenteth,

more than over ninety and nine just persons,

which need no repentance.

Luke 15:10

King James Version

10 Likewise, I say unto you,

there is joy in the presence of the angels of God

over one sinner that repenteth.

Luke 16:15

King James Version

for that which is highly esteemed among men

shall he find faith on the earth?

Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God

as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Except a man be born again,

he cannot see the kingdom of God.

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:7

King James Version

Ye must be born again.

John 3:16

King James Version

16 For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

John 3:17

King James Version

17 For God sent not his Son into the world

to condemn the world;

but that the world through him

might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned:

but he that believeth not is condemned already,

because he hath not believed

in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 4:10

King James Version

RICH inner life

The LORD JESUS said:

John 6:40

King James Version

40 And this is the will of him that sent me,

that every one which seeth the Son,

and believeth on him,

may have everlasting life:

and I will raise him up at the last day.

What can the world give me, that I don't already have in JESUS?

What celebration, or festivity, can take the place of daily fellowship with the LORD?

It's a voluntary stepping back from the world, in order to dedicate life and work for JESUS.

And all these, for the GLORY of GOD alone.

It is ironic that the deeper the grief at a loved one's passing, the deeper the fellowship with CHRIST, too.

Only JESUS can heal such a heart.

Of course, I will never be able to grasp the grief GOD had in offering His beloved SON, as sacrifice, that believers may be saved.

Ephesians 1:7

King James Version

7 In whom we have redemption

through his blood,

the forgiveness of sins,

according to the riches of his grace;

But how many remember that sacrifice?

How many really celebrate the true meaning of the LORD's birth?

Again, I will maintain, that unless, and until GOD makes you born again, you won't be able to understand His ways.

Scripture will remain elusive.

Only the HOLY SPIRIT can help us understand the LORD's will, ways, and WORD.

That's why JESUS asked we be born again.

John 3:3-7

King James Version

3 Jesus answered and said unto him,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born again,

he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him,

How can a man be born when he is old?

can he enter the second time into his mother's womb,

and be born?

5 Jesus answered,

Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,

Ye must be born again.

We need the SPIRIT of GOD, to discern things.

1 Corinthians 2:14

King James Version

14 But the natural man receiveth not

the things of the Spirit of God:

for they are foolishness unto him:

neither can he know them,

because they are spiritually discerned.

A rich, inner life can only be possible, through SPIRIT.

He will teach us everything we need to know about JESUS.

He will make Scripture easy for us to understand.

In such a way that there is no debate, nor doubt.

There is only a fullness of understanding.

And a delight in obedience to GOD's commandments.

As well as excitement at what SPIRIT may teach you, each moment.

Had I not had that rich, inner life with JESUS, no way can I produce 67 blogs, hundreds of posts, and 24 books in the 39 months of my being born again.

GOD's timeline has become my timeline.

I await the return of JESUS for His faithful.

On the day we meet Him up in the air, and remain forever with Him.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

King James Version

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven

with a shout,

with the voice of the archangel,

and with the trump of God:

and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain

shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,

to meet the Lord in the air:

and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

When JESUS is your heart, you delight in His promises.

In eternal life which He has promised you.

And the citizenship in heaven that awaits you.

How, then, can any worldly festivity fulfill my heart?

It always pales, in comparison to what JESUS offers.

Revelation 21:1-5

King James Version

21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:

for the first heaven and the first earth

were passed away;

and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city,

new Jerusalem,

coming down from God out of heaven,

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,

Behold,

the tabernacle of God is with men,

and he will dwell with them,

and they shall be his people,

and God himself shall be with them,

and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;

and there shall be no more death,

neither sorrow,

nor crying,

neither shall there be any more pain:

for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said,

Behold,

I make all things new.

And he said unto me,

Write:

for these words are true

and faithful.

ENDURANCE

Psalm 46:10

King James Version

10 Be still,

and know that I am God:

I will be exalted among the heathen,

I will be exalted in the earth.

What is a good enough reason to bear things?

To endure, to the end?

To  continue living?

To wait it out?

There are many WONDERFUL reasons to.

Young people seem impatient.

To succeed, to go out into the world, to marry, to have a family.

Wisdom comes from age, as they say.

Wisdom also comes from pain.

At having suffered much.

At realization.

Especially when you become GOD's own.

And are instructed by JESUS, SPIRIT, and SCRIPTURE.

You begin to understand the reason for all pain.

The reason for all hardship.

The reason for all challenges.

And you grow in grace, knowing the HAND of GOD is in EVERYTHING.

Never again do you question the ways of GOD.

You accept what you are given.

You work with the cards you're dealt with.

Everything has been predestined for you by GOD

Jeremiah 29:11-12

King James Version

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,

saith the Lord,

thoughts of peace,

and not of evil,

to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me,

and ye shall go and pray unto me,

and I will hearken unto you.

GROWING in GRACE means you surrender to GOD's POWER.

Only GOD has figured out things.

He is MASTER, and CREATOR.

The true born again prays to JESUS, sits still, and waits.

Until such time the SPIRIT of GOD gives you a prompt.

Then you'll know what to think, speak, and do.

In consonance with GOD's will.

There is peace in sitting still.

In waiting upon the LORD.

Isaiah 40:31

King James Version

31 But they that wait upon the Lord

shall renew their strength;

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

they shall run,

and not be weary;

and they shall walk,

and not faint.

JESUS did say:

Matthew 24:13

King James Version

13 But he that shall endure unto the end,

the same shall be saved.

In JESUS is GREAT POWER.

EVERYTHING obeys Him.

Mark 4:37-39

King James Version

37 And there arose a great storm of wind,

and the waves beat into the ship,

so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship,

asleep on a pillow:

and they awake him,

and say unto him,

Master,

carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose,

and rebuked the wind,

and said unto the sea,

Peace, be still.

And the wind ceased,

and there was a great calm.

Put your faith in the LORD, and MASTER, of everything.

The EDUCATION we NEED to have

Nothing is ever wasted;

it's all foundation.

Ever liked school?

What are your thoughts about school?

Parents are adamant we go to school.

It's for our future, they say.

They work real hard, so we won't be marginalized.

Maybe, they suffered that, that's why.

First time in school, we get nervous.

Are people gonna be kind?

Can we still play?

As the years go by, we warm up to it.

We even start enjoying the new stuff we get -- new pad paper, pencils, crayons, sharpeners, erasers, bag, lunch.

We sniff the aromatic erasers, oily crayons, new pad papers, even the lead on our Mongol pencils.

One would think they're teaching us to be bloodhounds in school.

Not so.

Maybe, it's also my way to like school -- getting the new stuff, and all that.

We get to know other kids, and make new friends.

Some like us; some don't.

We get a taste of how life is outside of our homes.

Teachers are either kind, strict, tired, or bored.

We go through the whole process for the first two decades of our lives.

More, if we pursue higher learning.

As we get older, the questions begin:

Does education ensure a better future?

Do we become better people for it?

Did we learn relevant stuff?

Is it everything people told us about?

Is it everything we expected?

Is it at all necessary?

Is education exciting?

Are schools exciting?

Do we really learn?

What did we learn?

I got a B.S., eventually.

Nope, it's not THAT B.S.

It was hard-earned B.S. in Architecture.

Five, long years.

Taught me cool stuff.

Knowledge was transferred into many other jobs I did.

Influenced the way I thought, wrote, taught, conducted myself.

Precision became key.

What about you?

What did you take up?

Did you finish?

Did you like school?

Were you able to go to school?

What did your parents think of school?

Did they have an education, too?

What is education to you?

Were people kind?

Would you have your kids go to school?

What would you want them to take up?

Would they have a say in it?

How has the world changed?

Did schools evolve, to go along with that change?

Are schools getting better?

Are kids still interested in school?

What are kids interested in, now?

Do your kids listen to you?

Do your students listen to you?

Do you like listening to your professors?

What could be better taught?

What's missing?

Since this is a blog on God, I shall talk about what's missing.

GOD.

Because I got into Catholic schools, naturally, I was taught doctrine throughout.

We also studied "world religions".

Then when I got to travel a bit, I saw that for myself.

Art, culture, religion, commerce.

More new stuff.

Did studies of my own, searching for something elusive.

I wanted God's TRUTH.

Was the Bible HIS Truth?

Was the Bible complete?

Did people leave out stuff?

Did the translators get it right?

I do have a lot of questions, don't I?

Well, as a graduate of Architecture, I worked as a journalist (astounding, isn't it), thus, the questions.

Became editor, lecturer, entrepreneur, and too many other jobs in between.

What was I doing, doing all that?

Educating myself.

Loved studying, you know.

School taught you one thing.

Life taught you another.

It's up to us to sift the wheat, from the chaff.

The essential, from the non-essential.

Did you get to do that, too?

Was it a pleasant experience for you?

Or you could barely talk about it?

Did you get the education you need?

Was life kind?

Or was it harsh?

Were you kind?

Or were you harsh?

School. Life. God.

Teachers, parents, siblings, friends, Jesus, the Holy Spirit in the midst.

Where does one get the best education, ever?

I must say it's from the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

Jesus promised:

John 14:26

King James Version

26 But the Comforter,

which is the Holy Ghost,

whom the Father will send in my name,

he shall teach you all things,

and bring all things to your remembrance,

whatsoever I have said unto you.

When God made me born again - only He could convert me, btw -- I headed for the Bible.

Threw away ALL other books I'd been studying.

The HOLY SPIRIT filled that missing link.

The best teacher is the ONE who breathed life into us.

Genesis 2:7

King James Version

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;

and man became a living soul.

Finally, I knew what life meant.

I knew what I was on earth for.

I knew whom to follow.

I knew what to believe.

I knew who to trust.

I knew what to teach.

My education is complete.

I just await my Teacher, who I will meet up in the air, in a changed body.

But first, I need to be sanctified.

Of all the world's dross.

Can't meet my ultimate teacher as I am.

There's still stuff to do.

I'm on it.
