JESUS as the LIGHT of the World

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them,
saying,
I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

John 8:12
King James Version

All of us have been walking in darkness, when the LIGHT had been there all the time.

And we wonder why the world is the way it is today.

For we don't have CHRIST in our hearts.

The Lord Jesus has been waiting all this time.

For all the aches and pains, the confusion and the corruption in this world, Jesus -- through the Holy SPIRIT of God -- is the ONLY one who can shine light on things.

We cannot make sense of the world, for the world doesn't make sense.

Only through the Holy Spirit can we be rightfully shown EVERYTHING we need to know, or learn.

The HS is also the One that teaches us about Jesus, for the LORD may have left this world, and yet lives in each one of us, if only we'd care to look.

Our souls need triggers for remembrance.

I had mine, at a time nothing in this world sufficed.

My soul was ready to receive the LORD, and lo and behold!

The LORD had been waiting all this time.

He showed up in several of my dreams -- quiet, knowing, but waiting -- bathed in LIGHT.

The Light was waiting for me, even as I was shown the climb would be arduous, but the LIGHT of Jesus was there!

I knew where I needed to go.

And now, I can tell you about the Light of the LORD.

For now, I read his Word, without which, my learning would be wholly incomplete.

Our souls need the LIGHT of the Lord, if we are to re-join Him one day -- at a time of God's choosing.

Can you imagine a soul that has not known God?

Can you imagine the darkness that await us all?

Only by the LIGHT of Jesus can we begin to see.

We have all been groping and scrambling in the dark, with the world making sure we see what it wants us to see.

Most importantly, it tries to hide the LIGHT of God from all of us, preferring to keep things hidden, and all our light dim, for in that darkness, is their control.

But surely your heart longs for more.

Surely, you know there is so much more than what the world offers.

And so, your heart begins to search.

God searches your heart, too, for He did say:

10 I the Lord search the heart,
I try the reins,
even to give every man according to his ways,
and according to the fruit of his doings.

Jeremiah 17:10
King James Version

And when your heart searches, and God is pleased, knowing you wish to genuinely know His Son, He sends His Holy Spirit to begin teaching you.

Soon, it will have been a year that I had been a student of the Holy SPIRIT of God.

The learning has been deep.

The verses have been powerful.

The WORD of God is unquestionable.

You cannot know the relief of finding light, when you have been walking in darkness.

And one day, CHRIST will return, in ALL His Glory, and all we know now, will be as nothing.

11 And I saw heaven opened,
and behold a white horse;
and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire,
and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written,
that no man knew,
but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:
and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven
followed him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen,
white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword,
that with it he should smite the nations:
and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:
and he treadeth the winepress
of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture
and on his thigh a name written,
King Of Kings,
And Lord Of Lords.

Revelation 19:11-16
King James Version

Make our paths straight then.

The LORD will be returning, at a time we least expect it.

The world will sway you this way, and that way, but the only WAY is JESUS.

Time is short, but the patience of God is legendary.

P.S. Again, God seems to like this piece, for when I checked the "Verse of the Day" from biblegateway.com -- the source for the verses the Holy Spirit leads me to -- this is what I found today:

3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 26:3
King James Version
